The King's Village serves underprivileged communities in Northern Ghana. With the support of organisations including The First Group, the charity adopts an integrated approach to development in deprived communities, providing healthcare, education, water and sanitation, economic and social services designed to alleviate poverty.
The King's Village was established by Ben and Marion Owusu-Sekyere, who moved to Tamale in 1999 and have lived and worked in the region since then. The couple established a small church in their house in 2000 and began working to help address the high levels of poverty that affected the local community, focusing on improving access to education, healthcare, clean water and sanitation.
